Lake Maumelle is the most active lake for sailing activity in the Ouachita Mountains. It’s convenient location near the large metropolitan area of Little Rock, Arkansas combined with the Grande Maumelle Sailing Club (GMSC) makes for a unique sailing experience. A weekend at Maumelle may see more sailing craft on the lake than motor craft. There are launch ramps at the Jolly Rogers Marina and at the Grande Maumelle Sailing Club. The Grande Maumelle Sailing club has a quality sandy beach designed specifically for beaching sailing craft.
Frequent Regattas are held at Lake Maumelle hosted by the GMSC and details about access and membership to the Grande Maumelle Sailing Club can be obtained at www.gmsc.org.
Lake Maumelle has an area of 8,900 acres covering an area of 14 square miles and a 70-mile shoreline. No swimming is allowed but boating and fishing are popular pursuits. The lake is well-known for the many sailing regattas it hosts and is used extensively by weekend skippers as well.
Launching and Beaching Launch Ramps are available at Jolly Rogers as well as at the GMSC. The GMSC also offers an excellent beach for your sailing craft.

Getting There Location: 12 miles west of Little Rock on Hwy 10, then Right on Maumelle Harbour Road.
