The Highway 71 Fishing Village Area on Lake Ouachita in Arkansas provides Launch Ramp, Beaching Area, Private Campgrounds and Cabins and Restaurant in the nearby Hwy 71 Fishing Village.  The lake at normal power pool extends approximately 30 miles and has a water surface of 40,000 acres. The campground is close to launch and beach area and has electricity, water and waterfront campsites.

Other amenities include a boat ramp, playground and a swim beach and nearby Hiking and Mountain Bike Trails.

Launching and Beaching
Lake Ouachita Boat RampThe Hwy 72 Fishing Village Launch Ramp places you right at the Ouachita Lake Headwaters.  You can float your craft from your trailer and then float to the area near the swim beach between the launch ramp and the swim beach for rigging.  At this time this is not a sandy beach, so use care when beaching as there are small rocks.  This is not an extremely busy launch ramp/marina but this being the headwaters end of the Lake it presents the narrowest part of the lake, but still quite adequate for sailing and provides access to the main body of water of Lake Ouachita.

Camping and Lodging
RV and Tent Camping is available Hwy 71 Fishing Village located near the Launch Ramp.  Reserve your Cabin or Campsite Here!

Getting There
8 miles North of Mt. Ida on Hwy. 27

Thumbs Up/Thumbs Down

Thumbs Up!  Hwy 71 Fishing Village provides Camping and Cabins Convenience Store and Restaurant.  Launch and beach your craft near the campground facility.  Ouachita Lake has very clean water.

Thumbs Down! No beaches have been groomed specifically for beaching a craft, but they can provide adequate beaching if one is careful.  Really not too bad considering it is just natural beaches.  The Swim areas are roped, so there is no access to sand for beaching at this time.  Although the area of the lake is narrow, it is still quite adequate for sailing.
